Vieste, the pearl of Gargano…
Don’t miss…
It is one of the most ancient towns of Daunia, plunged into a wild and charming Apulian panorama visited by millions of tourists every year. It is called the “pearl of Gargano” because it overlooks the sea and its position creates an indissoluble relationship between its visitors and the Adriatic coast. This is the wonderful town of Vieste.
Among the most beautiful evidence from the past, it is worth visiting the Cathedral which dates back the XI century (although it has been refurbished recently) and the Castle, built in the 1200s overlooking the crystal clear waters of Vieste. The beautiful Benedictine Church of Santa Maria and the Church of Chianca Amara recall the pirate storm in 1554 when many citizens of Vieste were decapitated on that ancient stone.
